It is a charming rustical Italian villa. If you are looking for a relaxed place with friendly staff, this is a great place to stay. They are very dog-friendly and we felt very welcomed and comfortable there. I would recommend it and I plan to come again. They have spacious parking and it's very easy to travel around everywhere from this location. They have a great transfer to Venice as well. Very clean and the food in the restaurant was excellent (dinner).

Located just across the lagoon from the Venetian islands, Mestre is the mainland part of Venice and offers cheaper accommodation, with easy transport links to the historic centre. However, the city has more than just cheap hotels going for it.
Host to several festivals throughout the year, huge Parco San Giuliano offers fantastic views across the lagoon towards the Campanile and dome of St Mark’s Cathedral. Also worth a wander round is Forte Marghera, a former Austrian fortress on an island in the middle of star-shaped canals. One canal continues into the centre of the city and is lined with restaurants and bars.
Pavement cafes can also be found in Piazza Ferretto, a triangular square with a 12th-century clock tower at one end and the Teatro Toniolo at the other. This popular spot for a passegiata also has a modern fountain and several boutiques. Also good for shopping in Mestre is the Le Barche centre, a rather uninspiring building from the outside, but packed full of stores.
As for nightlife, Mestre has a number of clubs, including one at Tessera near to Venice Marco Polo Airport. Don’t fly out of there without having tried the little homemade cakes called ‘mignon’.

Mestre is a small place, there’s no Uber app so you need to go with the public transport all the time. The locals don’t speak English, get a wifi connection at the center where is the train and bus station and search for bus number that will take you close to your hotel.
It’s a nice town as long you get used with the way in and out. You can arrive around 15 mins to Venice from the city center w/ bus number 2.

I stayed in Mestre as the base to travel to Venice. It was the best move. Avoid paying too much for the Venice hotels. Stay close to Mestre train station and you could be in Venice in 10 minutes. Enjoy the best of both worlds.

We only had a three night stay at the Hotel Delfino in Mestre
It is the perfect position for a value for money ,easy base to visit Venice from.
Unfortunately we did not have time to visit Mestre itself as our focus was always towards Venice.
Mestre is a very short journey by bus two and from the airport and stops outside the hotel which means your holiday can begin within the hour. Perfect. The supermarket was well stocked with anything you should need. With places to eat and regular buses to move around or by foot

This is the second time I have stayed in Hotel Garibaldi, it maybe a small hotel but has a huge heart! Luigi and his colleagues are so kind and helpful and show interest in how you spend your time. The No.2 bus stops right outside to take you to the centre of Venice. Hotel Garibaldi is excellent quality for a a very reasonable price, breakfast will set you up for the day. I will be back again soon!!
Almost everything, location value for money, access, facilities etc. - this feels like a hostel turned to hotel but our stays were very comfortable.
Staffs were friendly but sometimes only 1 person at the reception so we need to queue a long time just to ask question.
There are 2 bus stops that will get you to Venezia just in front and at the back/upstairs (through the stairs) of the hotel which is very convenient.
Can also go to Mestre Station and take the train from there but we had day pass so chose the bus instead.
The rooms (take a superior one, and ask for the first floor) are very nice decorated and sparkling clean.Breakfast was very nice at a decent price.
A good choice if you want to visit Venice and you are in transit because the property is located just in front of the station Venezia Mestre, the price for the ticket to Venezia Santa Lucia is 1.35 euro and you can avoid the high prices of the hotels located in the lagoon, also you will not carry heavy bags on the tiny and crowded streets of Venice
Very nice property, located in Mestre, which means you can park your car in hotel and take 20 min bus/train ride to Venice. Ofcourse they charge you nominally for your car parking.
Good, friendly staff giving timely help, including arranging of Bus tickets to Venice.
Groceries, Restaurants, Bus & train stations available near by.
Rooms were spacious enough and clean.
Breakfast was fantastic and had enough options
Overall , Value for money guaranteed.
everything was excellent! The room’s was very clean and comfortable, the staff cleaned the room every day. The staff was so nice and enthusiasm, satisfied all of our requests and questions, also guided us how to travel around just like a tour guide. You can also buy “venezia unica city pass” tickets to use all of transportation around Mestre and Venice. The breakfast included in our stay was very delicious and the dinner was nice too.
The price is the best,
Hotel stuff was very nice and helpful,
Hotel is new and clean,
You can take bus n2 from Mestre Main station to get to the Hotel, but N2 is not going straight there you should walk 800m which was ok for us, or you can take another bus, to go next to the hotel,
There is a big Lidl supermarket very close to the Hotel, which was comfortable,
It is very easy and fast to get to Venice from here, take bus N 2
Hotel very close to the Mestre train station, which I used to visit Vicenza, Ferrara, Padua. It is a good, nice, calm, and affordable alternative also for those who want to visit Venice but might want to avoid the huge crowds in summer when it comes to have dinner etc. Nice restaurants of all kinds can be found quite close as well. This is the second time I stay in this hotel.
Very practical and clean hotel close to the Venezia Mestre train station. The staff is gentle and helpful, the room has quite a big size and the facilities were working perfectly for us, especially the wifi.
Definitely a great option if you would like to visit Venice by train from Mestre, getting some more relaxed vibes than in "The Serenissima". We'll be back.
Good location in centre of Mestre, public transportation to Venice goes in front of the hotel.
Secure parking available until 14h the next day. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. We didn't try breakfast. Manager and other staff are very professional and kind, great communication with them. We were very satisfied with our stay.
Ideal to visit Venice by car, convenient private parking and food options around to balance your budget. Using this hotel you can avoid walk on Venice streets or raiding taxi boats with bags, believe that is priceless
The staff is the best I’ve seen so far around Italy. Educated, well prepared and open to help.
We had a family room, which was large enough for us. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. The view was less beautiful, looking onto the other hotel next to this one. But 100 steps from the train station in Mestre, what more to expect? Venice was there in walking distance literally,
The room was extremely spacious for a hotel room based near Venice
The location was quite close to the Mestre train station - which was 10-15 minutes away from Venice
The hotel is situated close to several supermarkets and restaurants (including a McDonald's for those late night munchies!)
Nice breakfast area, reasonably spacious room. Very good location outside Venice, as the hotel is situated near the Mestre Central Station and you could reach Venice with the bus or tram in just 15 min. Parking available free of charge. Very nice and helpful woman at the front desk.
The hotel was very nice. The location is great - close to the train station where you can catch a train to Venice and close to the centre of Mestre. The rooms were clean and spacious. A big plus is the availability of parking, but be aware that there is a charge of 8€ per day.
The hotel is just excellent. Incredibly comfortable beds, big bathroom, complimentary drinks and biscuits, clean and spacious. It is right next to Mestre trains station which allows for very easy access to Venice and to all the other cities and regions in Italy.
Great option only a 5 minute walk from Venice Mestre station. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend, a really good option for those who want a cheaper alternative to the hotel in central Venice!
Very kind and helpful receptionists. Really good location near the train station Venezia Mestre, from where you can get just for 1,45€ to Venezia Santa Lucia (Venice). You can also buy tickets to airport for 10€/person.
We were a party of four. We stayed three nights. EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE was AMAZING!!!
We're returning to Venice in three months... of course, we will stay at HOTEL PLAZA!!!
