Santorini lives up to the hype.
Santorini lives up to the hype. No other place like it in the world. Fira is a fun town—great people watching. Watching the sunset is an event. Yes it gets crowded, but still navigable (granted we visited in May and not July). You can find good restaurants at somewhat reasonable prices. Large supermarket on south side of town. Must do the Fira to Oia hike—we actually took the bus to Oia and hiked back.

We stayed in Fira as a central point to visit the rest of Santorini. The bus hub was in Fira and was a cost effective way to get around. (it is 2 euros each time you board, no transfers). Their KTel city buses are actually coach buses and travel to all points on the island. Fira is a safe, clean and busy place to visit. We really enjoyed Kamari beach which is a 20 minute bus ride away.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

I wasn't certain which area of the island would be the best place to stay, but after considerable research, I settled on Fira because it offered more diversity with its amazing cliff views, sunsets, shops, restaurants, and bars. The location was great for easy access to other regions too such as the wineries. Absolutely loved the wine tasting experience at Venetsanos winery. The view from the cliff edge was spectacular and their wines were out of this world.

Beautiful vistas and elevated over Caldera with stunning sunsets and great views. Avoid the town during the day from 11.00am to 5.00pm to miss the crowds due to the cruise ships swamping the place. Cute town with lots of paths to explore, shops to go in, and restaurants to enjoy. Views were incredible and sunsets a must. Trip to the crater was fun. Hot springs aren't hot. Beaches were difficult to walk on. Would have liked to spend more time in Oia. Buses are comfortable but crowded.

Our room (Honeymoon Executive Suite) was spacious and clean, with an incredible sunset view from the private veranda. The location provides quick access to all the shops and restaurants of Fira. What sets Limestone apart, though, is the attentive service of the friendly staff. They are eager to help make your vacation as enjoyable, relaxing, and memorable as possible. In addition, you can walk very quickly to the center of Fira, from where you can see the other side of the sea with the typical Santorini views. The beds are very comfortable, you also have a fridge in the room, which already had water in it when we arrived. The receptionist is extremely friendly and welcoming. You can also easily order an airport shuttle or ATV for rent at the reception. The hotel also has a pool with sunbeds. I hope we can come back again.SarahGermany

The location is unbeatable, just 2 mins away from the center of Fira and 5 mins from the bus station that takes you to the airport and the port, but we also want to really recommend the shuttle of the hotel to the airport, is really convenient and cheap! Breathtaking caldera and sunset views, a lot of people come to the hotel restaurant at sunset for the view. Free wine and fruits were provided and it’s a really nice gesture. The hotel has different room types so make sure to look very well at the pictures before you pick your room, we had the junior suite and it’s very small inside. There is no privacy at all in the jacuzzi/terrace but that’s the case for all Santorini.
