Bad moment - was no beach near and everywhere in cafes and restaurants no wifi internet. no printed paper menu, it is needed to be scan by QR code with special application in mobile phone which need internet connection. Why no wifi? When in all other cities in Spain this option is available.

It's a very interesting and nice city.
It's a very interesting and nice city. People are very kind and pleasant. There are not as many tourists as in the south of the island. Living in a local neighborhood outside the center was very nice to interact with local people. There are many pleasant cafes and restaurants. There is also a great urban transport system of trams and buses. It is also a beautifully green city with many parks.

We have only ever visited during carnival which is extremely full-on everyday, so don't expect to feel rested after a holiday during that period. But do expect to feel exhilarated by the noise, music, costumes, fancy dress and joy. I think it would be a lovely place to stay outside of carnival as a city break in dependable warm weather. Its an easy bus trip to Playa de las Teresitas, and there are many efficient bus routes to other regions of the island. If you wanted to go off the beaten track car hire would be useful. Few if any organised trips start from Santa Cruz, for example, trips Mount Tiede tend to originate from the southern resorts. Much of the centre is pedestrianised. Its a city for locals so don't expect all menus to be translated. Food orientated towards local taste also, which is excellent IMO. Lots of good shops in the centre. No great permanent cultural highlights, although I understand the Tenerife Orchestra is one of the best in Spain.SarahUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

Santa Cruz is a busy elegant city. Lots of restaurants and bars, Parks , The beach area is lovely but surrounded by port industrialisation. The new Lido on the front is excellent and well worth a visit. Excellent value for money.Christine - 10Scored 10

I love Santa Cruz de Tenerife,very nice,tidy,nice friendly people,great public transport. Lovely restaurants with sitting outside,nice food. Beautiful christmas lights,great atmosphere,mostly warm weather. A lot interesting things around to see.

At the time I booked the hotel and based on the price I paid we expected a hotel way out of the city but when we actually got there we couldn't believe our eyes, our accommodation was right in the middle of high street and 5 minutes walk from the marina. All bars, restaurants and shops were at our doorstep. I can't recommend this hotel enough for its location. Bonus, we could see the ocean from our balcony (3rd floor)

The room was clean and had a nice view into the garden and had a lot of natural light. The coffee machine inside the room was great. Reception staff was really nice and helpful. It was possible on quite short notice to reserve a parking space which was great for us. Breakfast was delicious with great variety to choose from and good quality. The garden with the pool is really well maintained and looks great.

The free gym is also really nice and spacious. The spa (with extra entrance fee) is really nice and offers really good treatments, but the sauna inside is really small & not new. The hotel beds are really good. Definitely can recommend the breakfast (to check if included/extra paid), which offers everything - fresh and tasty. The hotel is located close to a nice park and close by to the center of Santa Cruz.

I highly recommend booking the room with the balcony - views are really nice! The breakfasts were really tasty and were served in a restaurant in the other building on the same square, so it wasn't a problem for me (especially there were also a nice views from restaurant :)). The staff was helpfull and proffessional. I really recommend that place!
