Marvellous position in Oughterard within walking distance of the village via a beautiful leafy riverwalk next to the fresh flowing river itself. Superb host who couldn’t be more attentive or helpful and is quite delightful. Cooked breakfast also available perfectly presented. The uppermost echelon of BnB’s.

the property is a little retro in style in a good way. the place is immaculate, warm and welcoming. the room is stayed in was very homely and the bed was super comfy with crisp clean sheets and duvet/blankets. all the usual tea and coffee making facilities etc and a tv up on the wall, again a bit retro but very nice.

This was a great place to explore the surrounding areas.
This was a great place to explore the surrounding areas. It also has a castle in the area and an association with the film The Quiet Man. It is a friendly town with 2 supermarkets and a number of places to eat.

A cute small town with nice restaurants and cafes.
A cute small town with nice restaurants and cafes. A few nice shops. Nice place to stay I'd you're traveling around Connemara. It's about and hour to Kylemore Abby as well as to the ferry or airport that gets you to the Aran Islands. Definitely work a stop if you have some time. Powers is a wonderful pub and restaurant.

Good base for touring Connemara and Mayo. No meals in Hotel.
Good base for touring Connemara and Mayo. No meals in Hotel. We ate our evening meal at pub/restaurant across road from Hotel. I can't remember name but it had a thatched roof and food was excellent.

It is a small town with a village atmosphere.
It is a small town with a village atmosphere. It's not far from Galway city centre and as hotels can be pricey in the city I would strongly suggest travellers take a look at this as an alternative. The town is filled with pubs and eateries and places to stay. I stayed at the Connemara Lake Hotel, right in the centre of the town and rate it highly. As a solo traveller I found the area friendly and welcoming. There is a small castle nearby which is worth a quick look, but the Glengowla Mines four kilometres away on the road to Clifden is a treat. Really interesting and the scenery out towards the coastal town of Clifden is beautiful. A lovely part of the world.
During our two day stay we had a big room including a bathroom to ourselves. Even though the breakfast times are fixed our host made an exception as we had to get to the ferry early in the morning and we could eat half an hour earlier then usually possible. To make it as fast as possible she even took our order for the meal immediately so we would not loose any time in the morning. In addition we got a great recommendation for a dinner place in Oughterard. We had a very pleasant stay!
Breakfast was excellent. Once acclimated the location proved excellent.. A comfortable drive to Kylemore Abbey and Ashford Castle. A nice and affordable golf course nearby and and a beautiful lake for boating and fishing just down the street. Also a boxing club and football club in town. The town of Oughterard had a few nice Pub's and a grocery that was well stocked. Our host Christian was great and his new puppy Emily couldn't be more adorable
We stayed here for one week as we explored County Galway. The house is centrally located, so it was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go within one hour. Mary and Gerry are fantastic hosts and made us feel right at home. Mary gave us great suggestions of things to do and places to eat in the area. Each morning we had a hot breakfast prepared to order. We wanted a local Irish place to stay, and that is exactly what we got!
The breakfast was very nice. The waitress was super helpful and attentive. Were able to park the car outside of the hotel and it was free. Close to fantastic restaurant/pub where we had the best food and service.
We had actually booked through Booking.com for the wrong night and the hotel agreed for us to change without any problem. So thank you! Beds were comfortable and we slept well.
Located on the lake. And really peaceful we had a lake view from our bedroom. Great size bath and Netflix on TV. Way better then alot of 4 star hotels.
Really comfortable double bed
Breakfast was really great. Plenty of options and fresh oj and fruit.
It was out of the village so you need transport and there are plenty of lovely places to eat in the evening in the village.
We enjoyed our stay at Camillaun very much. Deidre and Greg are great hosts - freindly and helpful. Excellent breakfast! The location is very convenient - a pleasant, short walk to Oughterard, which is a lovely little town that's a good jumping off point for exploring Connemara and Galway. House has a fantastic snooker table too!
Great location, close to town and just a walk down the road to some excellent pubs and restaurants. The facilities were nice and breakfast was excellent, although the breakfast room can be a bit chilly in the morning. Not far from Galway if you want to stay close but in a more affordable area. Staff were very helpful.
What a lovely stay in a lovely town! The Connemara Lake Hotel staff was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating at every turn. Breakfast was ample and delicious. Rooms were tidy and spacious for our family of 4, with everything we needed to suit our needs. We would definitely stay here again. 100% recommend.
The hostess was delightful. Breakfast was excellent; plus it was an actual home-made breakfast. The area around the hotel is residential and nice to walk through. Plus the village next door was an excellent surprise: if it hadn't been for this hotel we wouldn't have stopped in Oughterard.
Dessie was a wonderful host, very welcoming & friendly. The location was perfect, right in the center of Oughterard. There was a full kitchen with washing machine & drier which was fantastic for us as we were cycling Wild Atlantic Way, was great to be able to do some laundry properly.
Spent 6 nights here. Highly recommended. Warm welcome by Ann and Patrick. Rooms clean and quiet. Excellent cooked breakfast. B&B perfectly situated for visiting the Connemara. Restaurants, pubs and amenities are a few minutes' walk away in Oughterard.
Great bed, breakfast and evening meal
A lovely Georgian house hotel surrounded by trees off the beaten track.
Great to have a desk in the bedroom.
Enjoyed the pre and after dinner drinks in the bar and the enjoyable company of the owners.
it's a self-catering facility, regular heating, there is a fridge available to store food, kitchen utensils to cook with, a central location, pizza shop downstairs, parking available at the facility. It's on the high street of Oughterard.
Delightful friendly and warm hosts, excellent location for touring Connemara, easy to find, adjacent to village of Oughterard with good choice of restaurants - an easy walk. Safe parking on site and excellent facilities.
Patricia really looked after me with lovely breakfasts and great recommendations for dinner in Oughterard. Room was cosy which was needed considering the weather. Sleet and snow in March?!
Barbara was warm and welcoming. Ever so kind. Very comfortable stay. So close to the lovely town with restaurants and live music. We had a wonderful stay!
Superb accomodation. The host was very kind. The bottle of wine and snacks were kind addition. Location is great for exploring other parts of Connemara.
