Loved the evening bar. Loved the pool although used it only once due to weather. Loved the breakfast and the fact that you could have cooked breakfast too, was extra special - all delicious. The coffee was generous in quantity and excellent. The service so kind and friendly. It was lovely to see the dogs around the hotel too. Even as a cat lover it was fun to have them there. The gardens were super and the view breathtaking.

A steep walk down to the Promenade which is clean and flat.
A steep walk down to the Promenade which is clean and flat. There is a good clean beach and amusements for children. Lift up and down to the promenade during the day . The old part of the town was worth a visit. Good place to eat with home cooked food and owned by the same family for over 30 years was The village Inn. Town centre a bit run down and typical of seaside town. Lots of pensioners on coach party holidays. Thorougly enjoyed Osborne House , weather permitting you could spend the day there. Due to the cost of the car ferry we will probably not visit the Isle again.

Shanklin and Sandown are beautiful beaches but both towns are dying. Shops empty etc. Parking expensive and a nightmare to find which took a lot of the enjoyment out of the trip. Parking charged 24 hours 7 days a week.

The hotel is located in old Shanklin which is delightful.
The hotel is located in old Shanklin which is delightful. The main part of Shanklin is run down and not appealing. Despite this it has an excellent beach and would be a good place for a beach holiday with the right weather.

The beachfront and beach were lovely, accessible from the clifftop area via a lift suitable for everyone. Lots of places to sit and eat and drink. The far end of the beach past the Fisherman's cottage pub was dog friendly with a wide flat sandy area. Shanklin chine was lovely to walk through and explore as was the old village full of charming old shops and buildings. Shanklin town centre was within a short walk with a mix of shops some areas did look a little tired but we found virtually all places were dog friendly. The station was only a short walk from our hotel with a regular reliable service to Ryde. Using the Trainline app enabled us to get flexible day returns at reduced costs and we could hop on and off along the journey. Overall a very pleasant and well positioned place to stay, the hotel and staff were wonderful very welcoming and accommodating who made as much fuss of our dog as us.
The location of the hotel is great for Shanklin, it’s an easy downhill 10 minute walk to local restaurants and a further 5 minutes to the seafront. The hotel is also in a great location to reach the coastal path.
The staff are fantastic and do all they can to fulfill your requests and give you a great experience. The breakfast was lovely and you have so much choice. We only had dinner once in the hotel and my husband really enjoyed his pie!
Lots of potential but in great need of renovation. Pool was out of use. Decor is old and tired. There was a hole in our floor in the room, covered with carpet! Everything is done on a shoestring !
Despite the poor accommodation, the staff are lovely and the location is close to the beach and shanklin town.
It's a shame the owner does not invest in this hotel because it could draw higher prices and better reviews!
A fantastic apartment. Very clean and comfortable. Lovely sea view. The location is perfect for the beach and old village. Allocated parking. It has all the facilities you could possibly need! I met the house keeping team who were so friendly and helpful. I have stayed in Shanklin many times and this is by far the best. I will definitely be returning here for my future visits to the island!
A fantastic place to stay, a lovely building, very clean, a great breakfast and very friendly staff. A big thank you to Ann and John for your hospitality. I would not hesitate to stay here again. A great location too, a short walk to either the high street or the old village with its great restaurants and thatched roofed pubs… fantastic! Thank you! 😊
Breakfast was lovely, great choice and waitresses were friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and welcoming, bathroom was a bit small but didn’t worry us at all. IOW is very hilly, so walking was hard for us unfit oldies, but views are spectacular. Shanklin esplanade is beautiful, a trip back to the old days.
Great value for money for our two-night stay in December. The decor could do with an update but the room was comfortable and clean. Hotel had great facilities including a swimming pool and the free breakfast was a bonus. Location was fantastic and just a short walk to Shanklin town and the seafront.
Wonderful cliff top location with a beautiful view for breakfast. Plenty of places to go in Shanklin, although the tearooms and the amusements were a particular favourite! Access to a swimming pool was very welcome during the nice weather.
Everything, beautiful hotel, nice gardens. Great welcome when we arrived, the room and bathroom clean. Brilliant breakfast, plenty of food, staff couldn't do enough for us. Booked for the music festival definitely book again. Outstanding
Location, Staff, hotel very clean and beautiful gardens. Having the availability of early evening hot snacks was a really good idea and reasonably priced. Parking available onsite which was brilliant. Great breakfast on offer
We have stayed in many hotels throughout the UK over the years but the staff here were amazing so happy and friendly and really couldn’t do enough for us. Would 100% stay again. And the location and views are stunning!
A very professionally run hotel Excellent decor, fittings and very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent. Freshly prepared and good quality.
Location was excellent near the Old Village of Shanklin.
Lovely space! Enjoyed the balcony and super comfy beds. Well supplied kitchen and a great location just a short walk from the beach and Shanklin Old Village. Great communication with Adam.
The location was excellent. Just a 5 minute walk down to Shankline Beach. The room we stayed at had an excellent view of the beach as well. Beautiful sunrise. Great value for money.
The hotel was in an ideal location for the local buses, and was only a 10 minute walk to Shanklin old village. The gardens were beautiful and had excellent seating in the gardens.
Everything was perfect. We were so well looked after and loved breakfast on the patio. Easy 10 min walk to the pubs and restaurants in Shanklin old village.
