My stay was regrettably too short; I truly wish I could have extended it. Port Elizabeth is vastly underrated, offering an abundance of activities. I yearned for a longer holiday, ideally spanning five days! The city is breathtaking, with its friendly people, pristine cleanliness, and refreshing ambiance.

The area I stayed at in Summerstrand was very beautiful and quiet. It’s clean and close to the beaches. Overall, I found PE to be relatively laid back. A cosy city for a traveller needing some peace and quiet.

Professional yet warm and friendly hosts that made us feel comfortable. The rooms are spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished and the facilities are exactly what we wanted. Much attention to safety and environmental aspects that provide a sense of security and serenity.
Highly recommended and I will definitely be back. Thank you Tommy and Leonie ❤️

Port Elizabeth is a beautiful coastal city with miles of beaches and is true to its nickname the Friendly City. The older parts in Central have stunning views and buildings but unfortunetaly the local government has allowed it to become neglected, uncared for and in some places dangerous. What a pity, as the old centre with its harbour views and gracious historical buildings should be the gem of the city.
That said, there are still other places worth a visit as property owners in the central area really make an effort to keep their properties well maintained and in the spirit of what it used to be.
There are many restaurants and my favourites are the local ones, each with their own vibe and unique menus. I just love Port Elizabeth.

Gqeberha to give its official name is a fairly relaxed place as largish cities go. It has great beaches though you need to be prepared for windy weather that can reduce the fun of being on a beach.
There is a lot of history, with interesting sites to visit. Also some great food options.
It is not the country’s top tourist hot spot but has plenty of attractions that are in any case better enjoyed without a massive crowd.
Room Service took ages to answer phone.
Check-In clerk gave incorrect information.
Poor menu for supposedly up-market restaurant.
Long wait to check-in.
Very basic furnishings in room.
Generally, not worth the money. Better hotels and accommodation experiences at lower rates.
Great room with wonderful sea view to watch the sunrise in the morning. Hotel is in an excellent location on the beachfront with access to the promenade, offering great walks and the beaches. Breakfast Buffet is good and an excellent start to the day - their pastries are magic.
Very spacious bedroom and bathroom. Conveniently near the beach, restaurants, and grocery stores. The staff went the extra mile (even phoning to check if they should forward some cheap bottles of wine I forgot in my fridge, which I told them they were welcome to enjoy).
A quiet location in the suburb of Summerstrand. A very spacious and well-provisioned room with all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. Filter coffee with a plunger was a special touch. A very friendly hostess and staff added to the pleasure of the stay.
The hospitality was Awesome and Edouard knows how to make you feel at home everything was so nice. I would recommend 39 On Nile Guest House to everyone that wants a getaway in Port Elizabeth. You won't be disappointed. I rate ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ will see you definitely again
Amazing hotel, huge bathroom and amazing staff. Breakfast, rich and varied, prepared on the spot. With hotels like this, the desire to travel increases. The value for money is one of the best I've ever seen. Simply wonderful
The place is in summerstrand close to the boardwalk mall and few minutes away to the beachfront, which my children enjoyed.
There is a restaurant within the apartments and the food was great and very affordable.
The hotel locations is great, and the verandah is awesome to sit and watch the world with a G and T. Staff are super friendly and helpful too. I would go back there if travelling to Port Elizabeth again.
Late check in possible. The attention of the personal was good. The hot water in our room wasn’t working and they let us take a shower in another room. Hotel near to the airport.
Needed a fridge in the bedroom. I was gone too early for breakfast, I should have in fact booked a self catering and not a bed and breakfast. Thank you to the guest house staff.
The staff are exceptionally friendly, the breakfast is better than most 5 star hotels, and while I was there, they were busy putting in batteries to avoid loadshedding.
This was an exceptional friendly run family hotel. In a beautiful, safe area of Port Elizabeth. Breakfast was excellent and the atmosphere as good as being at home.
I really enjoyed staying at Sun1 Port Elizabeth Gqeberha and the staff was so good to me and their hospitality is to be appreciated because it's wonderful
