With original buildings dating back to 1756, the Karoo 1 Hotel is a restructured farm located in Touwsrivier. It offers elegant rooms and features a swimming pool and a restaurant. Very friendly staff, beautiful hotel and beautiful surrounding scenery. We went in August when it was less busy and the staff opened up the restaurant for dinner and breakfast just for us. Food was good and well priced. Would have loved to take a dip in the pool if it wasn't winter :) The hotel is also far enough from the main road and has a gate so feels very safe and secluded.

While the owners live in close proximity, we didn’t hear or see them, despite playing our music loudly. This gave us a feeling of being alone, despite the presences of others on the farm. We loved making a bonfire and watching the sunset and sunrise from the deck. The hiking trails are also great, and if it gets hot you can swim in one of the dams. Phenomenal experience overall

Drie Kuilen Nature Reserve is a recently renovated apartment in Touwsrivier, where guests can makes the most of its outdoor swimming pool, garden and barbecue facilities. The stars, the silence. Great modern facilities, that you don't expect in such remote place . All well designed and environmentally well thought . Good, knowledgeable staff. Well driven and interested . Offering a terrace and views of the mountains, PicardiPlace is situated on a working farm, near the quaint village of Rawsonville. We had a warm welcome from Jaco the owner, called us in the morning to ask if he can fire up the hot tub outside. Room was clean, comfortable, inviting and had a lot of charm. Additional effort to make it special. Definitely value for money. Beautiful location with awesome views. Thank you Jaco for your warm hospitality, we will see you again in future
